Before you start

You need admin or creator access to a workspace.
You need a supported source file: PDF, Word .doc or .docx, or PowerPoint .pptx.
You should know the audience and the learner-facing title for the course.

Concepts

Uploading a document starts a draft workflow. It does not automatically publish the source document or generated course to learners.

The outline is the first checkpoint. Review modules and lessons before generating the final content.

Quiz generation should happen after the course structure is stable so questions match the lessons learners will see.

Learner preview lets admins check the experience without treating the preview as a real learner assignment.

Steps

Create a workspace or open the workspace that will own the course.
Go to Courses and choose Create course.
Upload your source document.
Enter a clear learner-facing course title.
Choose generation options such as audience, lesson count, tone, and quiz generation.
Review the generated outline and edit modules if needed.
Generate course lessons.
Generate quiz questions and review the correct answers.
Preview as a learner.
Publish the course, save it as a draft, or invite learners.

Example

For a workplace safety policy, upload safety_policy_2025.docx, title the course Workplace Safety Policy Training, generate a 5 lesson course, add a final quiz, preview it, then assign it to new hires.

Common mistakes

Skipping outline review and discovering missing sections after lessons are generated.
Creating a title that only makes sense to the admin.
Using quiz questions without checking the correct answer and explanation.
Publishing before confirming the intended learner access mode.
