Publishing and access settings control who can see a course, who is assigned, and what happens when access changes.
Draft courses are for internal review.
Private or invite-only courses are best for internal training.
Public sample or unlisted modes should be used only when the course is intended for broader access and the app supports that mode.
Learners cannot manage source documents or workspace settings.
Unpublishing a course should remove or limit learner access according to the configured access rules.
| Setting | What it does | Recommended default |

A support SOP course is published as private, assigned to the support team, and given a due date. Learners can see lessons and quizzes but cannot see source documents.

| Draft | Internal review | Admins and creators only |
